The Leader created the first directory in 1930. As attendance grew, so did the size of the directories. The first issue of the Leader was published in 1907 and continued until 2013. When it was founded, the paper was named the Western Normal Leader, becoming the State College Leader in 1931 and then the University Leader in 1977.
